New York Democrat Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is upset with Elon Musk’s new initiative to charge people $8 a month to be verified on Twitter.

GALLAGHER: Don’t you love that rich people like Stephen King are all upset that Elon Musk wants to charge people with a verified blue check mark $8 a month. Stephen King is worth $500 million and he’s angry and offended that Twitter wants to charge $8 a month. AOC is all upset. Great back and forth between Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Elon Musk. This Elon Musk. He is a beast. I mean I don’t know a lot about him, but I am telling you what. This guy is rocking their world. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez tweeted out “LMAO at a billionaire earnestly trying to sell people on the idea that free speech is an $8 a month subscription plan”. Musk retorted “your feedback is appreciated. Now pay $8”. And then she went back to Twitter saying that she seemed to have gotten under his skin. Because Musk tweeted a screenshot of a sweatshirt from AOC’s merchandise line with a price of $58 circled alongside a thinking face emoji. In other words, Elon Musk is pointing out that AOC is complaining about $8 a month to keep your verified status on Twitter and you’re selling stupid sweatshirts for $58. Now listen to AOC’s response to that. She writes “my workers are union, have full healthcare plus benefits”. Wait a minute, your workers. Do they work for you personally? Do you have like servants? Do you have slaves? What do you mean? My workers are union because that is of course very important to AOC. $58 for a sweatshirt. That is a bargain, isn’t it? I want to run out and buy one. Does it have a hoodie so I can look like John Fetterman? Musk has announced that Twitter is going to begin charging $8 a month for it’s Twitter blue premium service. Most of us are fine with that, but not the freeloaders with AOC and Stephen King. Now that is where we draw the line! Eight dollars! I’ll bet you they paid $8 for a Starbucks this morning or to go behind the paywall of the Huffington Post, but $8 to have their blue check mark on Twitter. Ugh the humanity. The humanity of it all. These people are unbelievable.
