Democrats Fundamentally Don’t Want Americans To Have The Right To Keep And Bear Arms
Recent comments on The View and by Biden’s recent ATF pick show how the Left truly feels about our 2nd Amendment.
GALLAGHER: The Left likes to say we don’t want t take away your guns. We just don’t want people to have weapons of war, but we don’t want to take away your guns. Check out Sara Haines who is one of the panelists on ABC’s The View. I want you to hear this exchange about the 2nd Amendment. About American’s right to keep and bear arms, and yes defend our lives.
HAINES: A man that — he said, you know, at my age, I was scared I couldn’t defend myself. People like that, we need to be checking up on these gun owners. Because if you are someone that stands in a home and is petrified at someone ringing your door when you were never even — there’s still a door between you and you’re the one with the weapon, then you need to not have weapons. Because the stand-your-ground laws and the Castle doctrine – is it Castle doctrine?
HOSTIN: Castle doctrine.
HAINES: These things are scary. The NRA wants to roll these back further because it fuels the profit of more gun sales, when we can defend these people that are holding these guns. It’s a money problem right here.
GALLAGHER: We need to check up on these gun owners. Can you imagine that a man said I want to have a weapon to protect myself at my age and that woman mocked it. That is the way the Left really feels. They often say the quiet part out loud and she did. They scoff at the idea that people want a weapon to protect and defend themselves with. It gets even worse. Joe Biden has picked a guy named Steve Dettelbach to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. Yesterday there was a hearing on Capitol Hill. This hand picked ATF Director was asked by Rep. Jake Ellzey (R-TX) to define an assault weapon. It didn’t go well for Mr. Dettelbach.
ELLZEY: As a gun owner of many different types and 20 year military veteran, I have some expertise in weaponry. Could you in 15 seconds define an assault weapon for me?
DETTELBACH: I’ll go shorter than that because I, honestly, if Congress wishes to take that up, I think Congress would have to do the work, but we would be there to provide technical assistance. I, unlike you, am not a firearms expert, to the same extent as you maybe, but we have people at ATF who can talk about velocity of firearms, what damage different kinds of firearms cause, so that whatever determination you chose to make would be an informed one.
