Former President Trump said that people were crying during his arraignment in NYC and made a lot of other notable comments to Tucker Carlson.

GALLAGHER: Here’s a little bit of what it sounded like. President Trump talking about what the experience was like going to that New York courthouse and was actually indicted.

TRUMP: Well, it was a horrible thing because I did nothing wrong, absolutely nothing wrong. You look at even the pundits and the legal analysis, Gregg Jarrett, all of these really talented people, they’re saying, ‘He didn’t do anything wrong.’ So, that’s number one. Number two, they were incredible. When I went to the courthouse, which is also a prison in a sense, they signed me in, and I’ll tell you, people were crying. People that worked there, professionally worked there that had no problems putting in murderers and — they see everybody. It’s tough, tough place. And they were crying. They were actually crying. They said, ‘I’m sorry.’ They say, ‘2024, sir, 2024.’ Tears are pouring down their eyes. I’ve never seen anything like that. Those people are phenomenal. Those are your police, those are the people that work at the courthouse. They’re unbelievable people. Many of them were in tears or close to it. Many apologies, ‘We are sorry, sir. We’re sorry.’ They had me do certain things, they said, ‘Sir, I can’t even believe I have to ask you to do this.’ You could see — so, in one sense it was beautiful because they get it.

GALLAGHER: That is the kind of message Americans want to hear. Tucker seemed a little surprised when Trump reminded Gavin Newsom who might be his opponent next year. I think it will be. Biden can’t walk up a flight of steps. No way he can go 4 more years as President. There is no possible scenario that Joe Biden will be the nominee running in 2024. Listen to him. Watch him. He is a very elderly man. The way I see it. Gavin Newsom is right out of the central casting playbook for the Democrats. He is a looney leftist, a progressive, sharp elbowed, good looking guy, white teeth, slick back hair. He is right out Hollywood. President Trump reminded Tucker last night that Gavin Newsom said complementary things about him when he was in the White House.

TRUMP: You have a very ambitious guy in California, but he’s done a terrible job with the state. I used to get along great with him, you know, when I was president, I got along really good with Gavin.
CARLSON: Wait, you got along with Gavin Newsom?
TRUMP: I did. I really did. He was always very nice to me, said the greatest things. He would say things like, ‘He’s doing a great job.’
CARLSON: “About you?
TRUMP: “About me. That’s why I could never hit him, because he was so nice to me. He’s just laying in wait, right? But he was very nice to me, relatively speaking. Some of them weren’t. We did a good job for the governors. But they talk about him. They talk about some others.

GALLAGHER: That is such insight into Trump’s psyche, because he is all about loyalty.
