Does Former VP Mike Pence have any shot at becoming President given how much contempt Trump supporters have for him?

GALLAGHER: Do you know what Trump supporters think of Mike Pence running for president? Do we really want to go down this path? Here is a Fox News report with Fox’s Mark Meredith reporting on former VP Mike Pence filing the paperwork this week to challenge his old boss, Donald Trump, and run for President of the United States.

MEREDITH: The field of Republican candidates is growing fast. Today, former Vice President Mike Pence, he made it official. He’s going to be challenging his old running mate, former President Trump, for the Republican nomination. Pence will officially unveil his campaign on Wednesday. He filed the paperwork today, but will be delivering remarks in Iowa. The former VP is expected to campaign heavily on his faith, his record, and the policies he fought for during the Trump Administration.

PENCE: I’m just very confident that whatever things look like right now, that Republican primary voters are going to look at the field, think very deeply about who can best carry our message and carry majorities to victory.

MEREDITH: Pence is not the only one joining the field this week. Former New Jersey governor Chris Christie will announce tomorrow night in New Hampshire, and the governor of North Dakota, Doug Burgum, he’s going to be announcing hours later.

GALLAGHER: I am going to get myself in trouble with this audience when I admit that I like Mike Pence. Always have. He used to be a talk show host in Indiana. He is a good guy. I’ve gotten to interview him a few times over the years. I am not sure that Mike Pence himself realizes how much contempt Trump supporters have for him. It is off the charts.
