How Relevant Is The Second GOP Debate To Americans?
With Donald Trump being absent at the 2nd GOP debate, will Americans care to watch?
GALLAGHER: So tonight’s debate night, who soars? Who falls on their face? Does it really matter? You understand what Trump world is saying and what President Trump himself is saying. The debate is irrelevant. He’s not going to be there. It’s only going to be relevant if he’s there. The media is going to try to scrutinize DeSantis or Nikki Haley or Chris Christie. You know, the Perot Firpo of 2023 politics, the Iron Sheik, Andre the Giant. That’s all he has. He’s like a cartoon character and he’ll prattle on about how evil Trump is. And maybe somebody will have the temerity to say, wait a minute, you used to love the guy. You used to give him debate prep. What happened, Governor Christie? Governor Bridgegate. But let me just turn to you. Let’s flood the zone with phone calls. Does the debate matter? And I mean it. You think think through your answer and give me a call, because, again, I’ve got this dear, dear friend of mine who says, you know what? With him, not there and that’s why he’s not there. Incidentally, the only reason he’s not going is because he wants to sort of force irrelevancy upon the debate. Now, is it truly irrelevant? No, of course not. It’s a big political deal. It’s part of the political process. It’s part of our cycle that we’re in. We’re going to be covering it tonight. Salem News channel all over it. Let’s do a whole quick round robin of phone calls. Let’s do a lightning round of phone calls. Do you believe tonight’s debate is relevant or irrelevant? Does it matter or is it does it not matter? Since Trump isn’t going? I wonder I mean, because I’m divided, I understand Trump’s strategy. I understand why he’s doing what he’s doing, why he’s not going. He doesn’t need to go as a talk show host. I’d love to see him there. I’d absolutely crave that kind of drama. But that’s because I’m a talk show host. Most people aren’t going to think this is relevant. So let’s find out. 865 five Mike, Let’s get started. Erick, real quick, real let’s just flood the zone here. Let’s do a lightning round of calls.
