Mike shares his belief that Donald Trump ought to be the Republican 2024 presidential nominee and that Ron DeSantis should sit this one out.

GALLAGHER: A poll just came out. A Wall Street Journal poll showing Trump is crushing DeSantis. DeSantis is losing donors. He’s losing endorsements. I think every one of the Republican congressional delegate members in Florida have endorsed Donald Trump This is Trump’s year. It’s got to be Trump. Now I want to make sure you understand if Ron DeSantis is the nominee I’m 110% behind Ron DeSantis. I want to win in 2024. Obviously we’re gonna have a healthy debate about how we get there, but this should be Trump’s turn. I have prayed about this. I have been trying to pull my punches. I have been pussyfooting around and I can’t do it anymore. Mark went bonkers. He said it is the stupidest thing he ever heard. He said should there be a more disciplined person than Donald Trump perhaps. I don’t want to put words in Mark’s mouth. It seems to me there are people who have soured on Trump again and think we can’t win with him. They could be right, but if people think the beast is going to treat DeSantis or anybody else with kid gloves, think again. It ain’t going to happen. They will go after DeSantis with every bit of intensity that they went after Trump. Ron DeSantis has had a tough few weeks. Ron is 44. He is a young man and has a lot of political life ahead of him. I am afraid he is going to get politically damaged so badly this cycle that he will never hear from him on the national stage again. I don’t want that to happen. I want Trump in 2024 and DeSantis in 2028. That is how I feel.
