Mike takes a poll of listeners “What do you think about George Santos and what the republicans should do about it?”
GALLAGHER: If we took a poll. I think most people would favor George Santos, staying in office. He should stay. I hope they scrutinize him. I hope they watch his every move. And you better lock down the good silverware around this guy.
1800-655-MIKE. Should he stay or should he go? What should the republican party’s reaction be, about this apparent lying congressman, from the state of New York?
What’s your reaction? Do we play ball the way they do and just stick by people like George Santos, even if they’re despicable? Or should we take the high road and be different from the loopy looney democrats?
George Santos on the table, does he stay, or does he go? Let’s start with Michelle in Colorado.
Hey Michelle, Happy Monday, welcome to the Mike Gallagher Show on this Martin Luther King Day 2023. How are you?
CALLER MICHELLE: I’m fine. How are you?
GALLAGHER: Good, what do you think about Santos and what the republicans should do about it?
CALLER MICHELLE: I think he should be removed because we have a higher standard. And the fact that Biden has been lying for 50 years. You see where that’s getting us right now.
GALLAGHER: Alright, Lets see what others have to say. Glad you called. Chris in Danville, Pennsylvania. Hello Chris.
CALLER CHRIS: Hi, I would want to get rid of him because he’s part of the swamp just like all the other bad guys in the swamp.
GALLAGHER: I don’t know that this is a swamp guy. I don’t think that he’s establishment. When I think of the swamp, I think of establishment politicians that have been there forever.
This guy is brand new, he’s young, he hasn’t told the truth evidently about anything. But you think he should go. 1800-655-MIKE.
GALLAGHER: Here’s a text message from Philly that sums up sort of how I feel about the controversy.
TEXT MESSAGE FOM PHILLY: Taking the high road gets republicans nowhere. Where expected to police on our own, while democrats it’s just excepted. That’s the premise set in Sal Lewinsky’s rules of radicals. Rules for thee not for me.
GALLAGHER: Carrie in Michigan, Hi Carrie.
CALLER CARRIE: I’m thinking the local people should be stuck with this guy. Where were they when they vetted this candidate?
GALLAGHER: Yeah, It’s not their fault. You mean, voters?
CALLER CARRIE: No, I think the local party should have vetted the candidate.
GALLAGHER: Yeah. Yeah.
CALLER CARRIE: They would have weeded out some of this trouble.
GALLAGHER: Or the local media, too. This is tough, this is tough. This is a real weird situation. That I don’t know our side is used to.
Listen you can go down the list. From Blumenthal lying about serving in Vietnam. Elizabeth Warren lying about her Native American heritage. Ilhan Omar marring her brother. On and on and Biden. You see yesterday he said every day he when to Black church, when he was growing up, or something? Who knows. This guy says things. He pulls things out of his… ear, that never cease to amaze.
So, if lying was a disqualifier, there wouldn’t be a lot of politicians left.
