Mike’s Caller Believes We Need New GOP Leadership
Mike talks to a caller about whether we need new GOP leadership amid this national debate we are seeing.
GALLAGHER: Caleb, in Camp Pendleton, California. How are you sir?
CALLER CALEB: I think we do need a shakeup. I am only 35 so I haven’t been in the game too long, but what I see is that the problem with our country isn’t the Democrats. We know what the Democrats are about. They are pretty upfront. The problem is with the Republicans. We have the John McCains out there that just turn coat on us every chance they get. I think we need leadership in the Republican party. I think Mitch McConnell is a bad apple and I don’t know how far we will get with him.
GALLAGHER: Well I just get mystified. The caller before you said that Kevin McCarthy is what is wrong with America. It is that kind of rhetoric that to me takes our eye off the ball here. Kevin McCarthy isn’t what is wrong with America.
CALLER CALEB: I don’t know much about Kevin McCarthy, but I know about Mitch McConnell. I know he pulled money from that special forces general that was running in New Hampshire and he has done a bunch of weird stuff. Whether or not they are career politicians because I get it. You probably can’t get into business after you’ve made some bold political statements when you are in the House or a Senator. But I think there is a problem with career politicians.
GALLAGHER: I get it and that is the theme that I think is emerging here. Thank you for your service and for calling here.
