Mike’s caller responds to Rep. Dan Crenshaw labeling the Republicans who are opposing Kevin McCarthy for House Speaker as ‘terrorists’.

GALLAGHER: Here is Ken in California. Welcome aboard.
CALLER KEN: Hi Mike. I wanted to respond to Congressman Crenshaw. You know this name calling has become so destructive. I don’t understand what is wrong with the concept of open debate and certainly the transparency of that debate. I think that is a good thing for the country. When you hear these people with their insults whether it be Congressman Crenshaw or your colleagues or the people on Fox, it is so poisonous. I guess they just don’t understand how foolish they sound because essentially they are saying we don’t need open debate or transparency. I think it is great because we are seeing what democracy really is.
GALLAGHER: I agree with you totally. I think you got to study the overreaction by people like Crenshaw. Maybe Sean on Fox. I mean I don’t get the hysterical reaction. Listen, I don’t like any of this. I told you before. I think Kevin McCarthy would make a good Speaker if he is given the chance. I think he should get the chance and I don’t like the stalemate right now, but this is a healthy debate and one we have to have.
