It’s not surprising that a black mother in Baltimore who chased down, cursed and beat her 16-year-old son in the middle of a riot has been called a hero. In this country, when black mothers fulfill stereotypes of mammies, angry and thwarting resistance to a system designed to kill their children, they get praised.

Mike and former NYC Detective Bo Dietl discuss the arrest of Freddie Gray whose death while in police custody sparked the Baltimore riots. Bo speculates on how Mr. Gray could have become injured during his arrest.

Veteran actor Philip Casnoff hadn’t read the full script yet when he arrived for the first rehearsal of “Ferguson,” a play chronicling the shooting of Michael Brown by a Missouri police officer. Casnoff thought he knew what the play would be about:  a variety of viewpoints. Then he read the script, which tells the story that Brown didn’t have his hands up and that he charged at Wilson.

Given the history of the past half century, environmentalists come off to normal thinking people as the boys who cried wolf, rather than the men who saved the wolves.
