Republicans Are Not Happy With The Senate Lowering The Standard For Dressing Appropriately
The Senate is now not requiring Senators to wear suits and business attire and many believe it is because of John Fetterman.
GALLAGHER: I’ve heard from a lot of people who are infuriated at Chuck Schumer’s capitulation and eliminating the dress code for senators because of this slob, John Fetterman. And he is he’s a slob. No other way to put it. In fact, that was the headline of the Washington Examiner piece yesterday. Fetterman is a slob and Schumer is an embarrassment. And it is an embarrassment. It’s an it’s an outrageous embarrassment to watch Democrats bend at the bend at throw at the will of a guy like Fetterman, this hulking, incoherent problem plagued senator from Pennsylvania. Eliminate the incidentally, you know, they didn’t eliminate the dress code for Senate staffers rules for the not me. The senators get to show up like Fetterman looks dress like a serial killer, but not the staff. If you work for Fetterman, you have to wear a suit and tie on the Senate floor. But if you’re Fetterman, you can look like the giant slob that you want to look like. As the Washington Examiner put it in there in a great piece they wrote, it’s official. Democrats make everything worse. They just do. After Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s recent decision to nix the Senate dress code and in turn obliterate the regard, respect, fact and dignity of the office, Schumer and the Democrats erased any doubt about ushering in societal rot and the nation’s decline. I mean, it is everywhere you look around. I was watching the five yesterday on Fox News Channel, and they led with this football fan who was beaten to death in the stands at an NFL game. And then they proceeded to show all the stories of people being assaulted and beaten up and attacked. We are in the midst of a massive epic societal rot, and when a political party plays a role in that, you ought to pay attention. Every Democrat politician should be ashamed, and that should include John Fetterman, believed to be the impetus for Schumer’s decision to eliminate the dress code. Now, a group of 46 Republican senators sent a letter to Schumer asking to restore the Senate dress code. The letter says the Senate is a place of honor and tradition, and the Senate floor is where we conduct the business of the American people. It’s where we debate the policies which impact every American family. And when necessary, it is where we must make the gravest decisions. Imagine a bill, whether to send our fellow Americans into battle to defend the freedoms we all hold dear. The world watches us on that floor and we must protect the sanctity at all costs. So as the Washington Examiner puts it, the prestige of the Senate shouldn’t be lowered because John Fetterman is a slob. The people of Pennsylvania elected him believing he could perform his duties necessary as a senator. His health problems aside, none of that excuses his inability to put on a suit and tie for a job he was elected to do. Think about going to a wedding. Think about going to somebody’s wedding or a funeral. Do you think John Fetterman would show up at a loved one’s funeral or wedding with a disgusting, dirty hoodie and a pair of gym shorts? I would I would like to believe the man has at least a modicum of decency and wouldn’t wear shorts and a hoodie to his grandmother’s funeral. I would hope. But then again, it’s John Fetterman. And what’s fascinating is now he’s got this combination of arrogance and smarm. He’s on Twitter now pushing back at all of his critics. He tweeted towards at I think Marjorie Taylor Greene or somebody I dress the way you vote or something. And making all these crude comments about female Republican Congresswomen. So not only is he a slob with a host of psychiatric problems, but he’s a jerk. What a combination. And apparently he’s always been a world class jerk. Ask anybody who knows him. He’s a trust fund baby who sat around in his parents basement until he was 40. But he wants to project this image. Look at me. I’m what? The middle class looks like. Well, you want to know something? There’s a lot of hard working, middle class Americans who wouldn’t dream of disrespect acting the country by showing up to work at a place like the United States Senate looking like he does. And all Schumer has to do is be a grown up. Speaking of world class jerks, Schumer doesn’t want to be a grown up. Schumer is afraid of everybody. Schumer is afraid of his own caucus. He’s afraid of the radicals in his own party. And he’s clearly afraid of John Fetterman, which is ironic and interesting and intriguing when you consider who this guy is.
