Republicans Taking Control Of The House Of Representatives Will Restore Some Sanity In America
The Republicans taking control of the House of Representatives is going to put a stop to the Democrats’ radical agenda.
GALLAGHER: Hallelujah. We finally officially got the House. Republicans are in control of the House of Representatives. Maybe a little bit of sanity restored to Washington D.C. Perhaps a sliver of normalcy and common sense. The Wall Street Journal’s Kim Strasser who was on with Bret Baier last night explained what exactly this means.
STRASSEL: It’s not clear Democrats are necessarily going to nonetheless see that as a message to them, that they lost control of the House. They will continue to say, ‘Well, it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.’ But the reality is here that now that they control that House, there’s a big stop sign that’s been put up. Much as when Republicans took over in 2010 in the Obama Administration. So, Democrats have essentially said goodbye to some of their biggest ambitions, in particular plans of the rest of Build Back Better, these entitlement programs, expansion of Medicare, a lot of their really big ambitions, unless they can win it back two years from now. And then too set up the notion that there is going to be a lot more investigations. So, life is about to change very much in Washington because of these couple of seats.
GALLAGHER: Life is going to change very much. Life is going to change for Nancy Pelosi. She loses private jet, her gavel. She loses her speakership. How bad will things get for the Democrats? Well let’s listen to incoming Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy tell Sean Hannity last night just how interesting things are going to get.
McCarthy: “But the one thing I know in Washington, they don’t hand the gavels out in small, medium, and large size. It is one-size gavel with the ability to the subpoena and hold this government accountable, secure this border, fight to make us energy independent, give the parents a say in their kids’ education and actually look what the DoJ is doing, what the DHS is doing and others. And that is exactly what we are going to do on day one in this House. We will repeal 87,000 new IRS agents.”
HANNITY: “You would have the power to do that, wouldn’t you, because you have the power of the purse?”
McCarthy: “That is exactly right. And we will use the power of the purse.
GALLAGHER: You know, this is what elections can lead to and thankfully. Remember something. A few weeks ago, we were hoping wed take control of the Senate. The narrative a few weeks ago was it looked really good if we take the House and that would be extraordinary if we got the Senate. Well we didn’t get the Senate. Still might be 50-50 which would help determine all kinds of committee chairmanships, all kinds of decisions. If it is divided and the tie breaker goes to Vice President Cackles, that would be a good thing. You got to vote for Herschel Walker.
