The Illegal Immigration Crisis Is Decimating America’s Large Cities
Former NYC mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa railed against how the illegal immigration crisis is destroying America’s big cities?
GALLAGHER: Now, of all the things I get angry about, the illegal immigration crisis that we have in America right now is infuriating because this is a crisis of the Democrats making. And they have the gall. They’ve got the nerve. They have the audacity to pretend it’s not their fault. When you screech about open borders, when you brag about being a sanctuary city and suddenly we face a crisis of thousands and thousands and thousands of illegals entering this country. Kevin McCullough wrote a piece over at Town hall since Joe Biden has come to office. He has endorsed and incentivized more aliens to come here illegally than the populations of 32 states. Think about that. A replacement population for NBC, single of 32 sovereign territories. Do the math. Do the math. The 5.9 million people who have crossed illegally and have not been vetted would be a replacement for the bottom eight states and territories combined. And Biden is setting all kinds of records. Boy, he’s got a real big record to set. Big, Big. He’s made history. More than 300,000 immigrants. I’m reading here from the Washington Examiner. They call them immigrants. I’ll call them illegals. More than 300,000 illegals attempted to enter the United States unlawfully or were paroled during August, surpassing all national records and spelling a catastrophe fee for the Biden administration that claimed its sweeping policy reforms were working. In August alone, 304,162 people were apprehended by Border Patrol while crossing the border illegally. Now, I want to share with you one minute of my friend Curtis Sliwa on Fox News over the weekend. Curtis is a guy I’ve known for many years. He’s the you know, him as the founder of the Guardian Angels and a terrific talk radio broadcaster in New York City. Curtis is a character no other way to describe it. He is as colorful a person as you’ll meet. When I think of New York, I think of Curtis. He’s tough the way the mob tried to have him whacked. They pump five bullets into him because he was critical of the Mafia. And they almost they almost took him out. How many people, you know, shot five times who survived? He was in the back of a cab. I mean, Curtis, his life story is worthy of any great movie. If he wasn’t a conservative. They’d have been there had been five life movies, you know, stories about Curtis, his life by now, and six books. His life is a book. It really is. He’s run for mayor, run for governor. And he never shuts down. I think he’s like the Energizer Bunny. After I was first hired in New York to work for ABC Radio. Curtis sort of took me under his wing, and he did what he does to all new hires who he worked with. He gave me the An Underbelly tour of New York City, and we went into Harlem and the Bronx and went to all these communities. I was scared to death. I mean, here I am, literally this chubby guy from Ohio, in Albany, New York, and Greenville, South Carolina, in the in the projects with Curtis. And everybody knew him and knows him and loves him. That familiar? He doesn’t go anywhere. I’m sure he sleeps with that red beret. And Curtis was on Fox News over the weekend and talked about this illegal immigration invasion. And it is an invasion. There’s no other way to describe it. The left is going to try to take the high road and say, oh, you awful people calling it an invasion. No, no, it’s an invasion. All right. And as Curtis pointed out on Fox News, it’s an invasion by invitation. Who invited them? The Democrats.
SLIWA: “It’s an invasion. How do you describe it as anything other than the invasion at invitation?”
KILMEADE: “What do you mean?”
SLIWA: “A full year, Governor Abbott said, ‘No mas, no mas, we can’t handle this.’ He said, ‘I have to bus them to the sanctuary cities and sanctuary states,’ which mind you, there was no law that says these cities and states are sanctuary. It’s a proclamation that can be rescinded in a second. And who stood in front of Governor Abbott with his $5,000 customized all-silk suit? Eric Adams, swagger mayor with no plan, called him a racist, said, ‘Bring it on on. Send me all of the illegals and we will put them in hotels. Give them three squares a day, iPhones, smartphones, healthcare.’ And now all of a sudden he realizes he’s been overwhelmed. And instead of apologizing to Governor Abbott and saying, ‘I understand your pain,’ like we saw Governor Hochul just say, ‘Now I understand,’ he doubled down on him, he said, ‘This monster who keeps sending them to New York!’ And what did Governor Abbott say? ‘Okay, I’m going to double the number that I send to New York.’
