The Left cannot believe that Trump is so popular despite all his legal troubles.

GALLAGHER: I shouldn’t be a jerk about it, but I get a great deal of satisfaction from seeing Washington elites lament the possibility that Trump could return to the White House. Eugene Robinson is a legendary Washington Post editor. Here he was on with Morning Joe this week on MSNBC. Come on, admit it. You enjoy hearing this as much as I do.
ROBINSON: You know, the man is is is an accused felon. But 91 times or something like that and the total number of counts against him yet for potentially 46% of Americans are willing to return him to the White House. It certainly lays out with this poll, I think does it should and should lay out to Democrats that this this is going to be a close election. They can’t take anything for granted if they should assume it’s going to be decided by perhaps tens of thousands of voters in the swing states that we all know about. And and they better get cracking now because there’s a real risk. And I can’t believe I’m saying this. There is a risk that Donald Trump could return to the White House.
GALLAGHER: Now, come on. Doesn’t that put a smile on your face? Admit it. Admit it. They’re all saying it. And the better. Even the more encouraging news is they think it is going to be close. Because you know what? There’s a part of me that thinks it won’t even be close. There’s a there’s a part of me that thinks the American people are done.

They are fed up with watching a third world banana, banana Republic style justice become reality in America. Look at the state of Texas. Ken Paxton, overwhelmingly elected as attorney general. They decide they want to remove him from office. It’s on. They’ve they’ve only done it two other times in the whole history of Texas. Impeached an elected official. Ken Paxton is so overwhelmingly popular in the state of Texas. But the unit party exists there. There’s a cabal of Democrats and Republicans alike who say time for him to go. What’s his transgress? You and I know what it is. He’s a Trump supporter. He’s MAGA. He’s. He’s a fearless, conservative voice. And they want to remove him from office. They want to lock people up. Who are Trump supporters. Do you think for one minute that whatever happened on January 6th deserves a 22 year prison sentence? But there’s but all of this stuff that’s happening. There’s one guy that can fix this. There’s one man according. I guarantee you there’s only one person capable of fixing this. Do you trust anybody other than Trump? He was on with Hugh Hewitt this morning. He told you he didn’t rule out pursuing his pursuers when he gets elected. He didn’t rule out anything. All bets are off. There’s one guy who fights the way this guy fights. Here’s MSNBC’s Steve KORNACKI. He’s like the pollster. He’s the guy that stands with the big board and does all the polls and the data. And he points out that Trump’s polling today is better than Trump polled in 2020.
KORNACKI: Yeah, I think what’s really significant here is that you can see for yourself this is an overwhelming lead here for Donald Trump in this national poll, but it’s tough to see on the screen. But the fine print here of when the poll was conducted August 24th to August 30th, meaning this poll was entirely conducted after that first Republican presidential debate. So if he if Trump does hold on here and win the Republican nomination, if he holds on to his lead, interestingly, in this poll, they tested Trump Biden head to head general election.
Trump tied with Biden. And you might ask, in the face of all of these prosecutions of Donald Trump, his defeat in 2020, the underperformance of his candidates, of Trump aligned candidates in 2022, How could the general election be this close? In fact? These are better numbers against Biden than Trump was putting up through most of the 2020 campaign.
