Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Believes Joe Biden Has Been A Historically Successful President

Share

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg made the rounds and claimed that Joe Biden has so many accomplishments that it is hard to list them in a distilled way.

GALLAGHER: Pete Buttigieg. Check this out. How does the Biden administration send out the Transportation Secretary to be a mouthpiece for Biden’s spin over the Chinese spy balloon and yet that is what they did. Yesterday on ABC’s This week, here was ABC’s Jonathan Karl and the Transportation Secretary talking about Biden running facing unbelievable headwinds. There is new polling showing the overwhelming majority of Democrats don’t want Biden to run next year, but Mayor Pete is a good soldier and good team player.

KARL: Do you want him to run? Do you want him to run again? You saw our poll. You have a large number of Democrats that say they don’t want him to run.

BUTTIGIEG: He is an absolutely historically successful president, and I want to see that continue.

KARL: You want him to run again?

BUTTIGIEG: When I’m appearing in this capacity, I can’t talk campaigns and elections, but I’m incredibly proud to be part of this team he has built and part of the results that he is delivering. The biggest infrastructure package since Eisenhower, the most significant economic achievement — package since FDR. All by the way while having the most — the slimmest congressional majority of any new democratic president in about 100 years, and again, we’re just two years in. So what he’s achieved is extraordinary. When I see tongues wagging about polls and stuff, I can’t help but think about, you know, the tongues that were wagging in October. One thing this president has done again and again and again whether it’s politically or policy-wise, it has been beyond expectation. It is one of many reasons why I am humbled and honored to be apart of this team.

GALLAGHER: I agree with Mayor Pete on that one. He does defy expectations. He doesn’t fall down and collapse and fall down in front of our eyes everyday. He walks, barely, but he walks. He can occasionally string together complete sentences. He defies expectations always. Here he was on Meet the Press. I’m not kidding you. They sent Mayor Pete out to make the rounds over the Chinese spy balloon. The Transportation Secretary. I Guess, I suppose you can argue that the aircraft or the airship. I guess that is a form of transportation. Hey lets send Mayor Pete to do all the Sunday morning shows. Listen to Chuck Todd asking him about tomorrow night’s State of the Union.

TODD: Let’s go to the President’s State of the Union. Look, he’s got a lot of things to tell. Why do you think that it has not penetrated the American public?

BUTTIGIEG: Well, look, these things don’t sell themselves. And it’s one of the reasons I’m really looking forward to that State of the Union address. I will say that there have been so many accomplishments under this administration, it can be difficult to list them in a distilled way.
