Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg Nowhere To Be Seen As Ohio’s Train Derailment Disaster Affects The Community
Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said that Pete Buttigieg has been nowhere to be seen at all amid this train derailment fiasco.
GALLAGHER: You got the Gov. of Ohio suggesting that it is not so bad, but he is admitting the Transportation Secretary. This is the Norfolk Southern Railway. This is a national railway. Does that not fall under the purview of the Transportation Secretary? Listen to what DeWine told Martha MacCallum yesterday about Mayor Pete.
MACCALLUM: Senator vance pushed back on that on this show. You said no, we’ve had a great response from the Biden Administration to this problem. He’s asking, you know, where is Pete Buttigieg? Do you wonder why he hasn’t been there, looked at what’s going on? Is he looking at the testing going on? Is he looking at the damage to that one car? Why did this happen? Why so many derailments? Is he involved to the extent that he should be in this, governor?
DEWINE: I’ve not seen him at all. I did get a call from the president. The president said I’ll send you whatever you need.
GALLAGHER: Wow. He hasn’t been around at all. They had a Town Hall yesterday. No Buttigieg. No representatives from the Norfolk Southern railway. The way we are treating these people in East Ohio is appalling.
