Twitter Files Hearing Allows Democrats To Embarrass Themselves
The hearing focused on the Twitter files highlighted how the Democrats aren’t truly interested in truth or advancing free speech in America.
GALLAGHER: Debbie Wasserman Schultz. She couldn’t bear any answer to any question she asked. As soon as any of them tried to answer, she shut them down and said “I’m reclaiming my time, I’m reclaiming my time”. These clowns didn’t want any answer from Matt Taibbi or Michael Shellenberger. Then some of them really embarassed themselves. Ever heard of Congresswoman Sylvia Garcia? Democrat from Texas. I don’t know much about her, but she apparently is one of the hotshots on the committee yesterday interrogating these journalists. Listen to this exchange and how in the know Sylvia Garcia is about the country she represents.
GARCIA: When did you first visit or contact Mr. Musk?
SHELLENBERGER: I wont reveal my sources but I was invited by Bari Weiss. I dont know exact date. It was December of last year.
GARCIA: In your answer, you said you were invited by a friend, Bari Weiss?”
SHELLENBERGER: My friend Bari Weiss.
GARCIA: So this friend works for Twitter?
TAIBBI: She’s a journalist.
GARCIA: Sir, I didn’t ask you a question. I’m now asking Mr. Shellenberger a question.
SHELLENBERGER: Yes, ma’am, Bari Weiss is a journalist.
GARCIA: You work in concert with her? Do you know when she was first contacted by Mr. Musk?
SHELLENBERGER: I don’t know.
GARCIA: You don’t know. So you’re in this as a threesome?
SHELLENBERGER: There were many more people involved than that.
GARCIA: Are you being paid to be here today either by consulting fees or campaign contributions?
GALLAGHER: That is a United States Congresswoman. That woman, you would laugh at her in the grocery store. If she started talking in the grocery store like she was a clerk, you would say oh this poor thing. She is completely out of it. Adled, clueless. That is a U.S. Congresswoman. Here is another U.S. Congresswoman. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. You remember she had to step down from the DNC because of all her shenanigans and corruption. People have no shame. Have no shame. Here she was trying to beat up this journalist with decades of experience. This was classic.
WASSERMAN-SHULTZ: I’m not asking you to put a dollar figure on it, but it’s quite obvious that you’ve profited from the Twitter Files. You hit the jackpot on that Vegas slot machine to which you referred. That’s true, isn’t it?
TAIBBI: I’ve also reinvested a lot —
WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: You made some — no, no, no. Is it true that you have profited since you were — you were the recipient of a Twitter Files? You’ve made money. Yes or no? There is some privilege.
TAIBBI: I think it’s probably a Wash, honestly.
WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: No. You’ve — you — you have made money that you did not have before, correct?
TAIBBI: But I’ve also spent money that I didn’t have before.
WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: OK.
TAIBBI: I just hired a whole group of people to investigate —
WASSERMAN-SCHULTZ: Patently obvious answer. Reclaiming my time. Attention is a powerful drug, eyeballs, money, prominence, attention. All of it points to problems with accuracy and credibility.
