Do Republicans Need To Embrace Mail-In Voting As The Democrats Have?
Mike talks to a caller about his perspective on election integrity and reminds us all that we have every right to question our elections.
GALLAGHER: Covid. Beginning in 2020, Democrats embraced mail-in voting. They said that is the way. That is the path. That is the way to go. Republicans shied away from it. Republicans are worried about it. It seems to me that we better embrace it and play by the same rules or we are going to keep losing. The tendency that the Republican party had to shy away from mail-in ballots has been disastrous. Anthony in St. Petersburg.
CALLER ANTHONY: I just think all this stuff about fake ballots and confidence in winning the election is signs of rigging. I just think that is inaccurate. You mentioned earlier about why Florida gets it so right. I think Florida did get it right. I think there was a red wave in Florida and that made it a lot easier for them. It’s hard to contest a vote if you’re up by 5 or 10 percentage points.
GALLAGHER: If it had been close in Florida, do you think there could have been potential for corruption?
CALLER ANTHONY: I think there is potential for corruption. Period. Anytime, but I think in other states where it is 15, 20,000 vote difference, they are going to take a little bit more time to count the votes.
GALLAGHER: Yeah, they have never done that before, but now they take a little more time. Nobody believes that Anthony and I don’t think you believe it either. Why do you suppose we’ve always been able to count ballots and know the outcome on election day or the day after until the last few years. What changed Anthony?
CALLER ANTHONY: The pandemic was one thing.
GALLAGHER: Oh the pandemic. What about the pandemic because of all the mail in ballots?
CALLER ANTHONY: Well yeah. Drop off ballots. You can’t have people lining up in big numbers.
GALLAGHER: I think you are just trolling me. You just said Florida gets it right. Why does Florida manage to do it and Arizona cannot? Arizona is a third the size of Florida. There is 7 million people in Arizona and 21 million in Florida.
CALLER ANTHONY: The Republicans were way ahead.
GALLAGHER: So as long as we are way ahead, they can’t cheat. Anthony you’re not making any sense. To sit around and accept Joe Biden’s narrative that it takes a long time. Listen. There is plenty of Anthony’s in the world. You have every right to question election integrity. You have every right to wonder about corruption. You have every right to push back and say something doesn’t add up.
