Republican Rep. Chip Roy had endorsed Ron DeSantis and he attempted to spin the catastrophic Twitter announcement.

GALLAGHER: Here is Chip Roy. Texas Congressman. Here is his assessment of last night’s chaotic Twitter Spaces announcement of Ron DeSantis for President 2024.

ROY: Well, first of all, I think it’s a great problem to have to have almost a million people crashing the internet. I would rather have that problem than having no one show up at an event in Iowa and then blame it on the weather. Look, the truth is, Governor DeSantis has an extraordinary track record. He won by 1.5 million votes in Florida, 62% of Hispanic voters. He won about 50% of single female voters. Let’s see how President Trump thinks he can attract single female voters across the country. The fact is, Governor DeSantis has been attracting people to Florida with net in-migration, with strong support of the police and making sure we stand up to have safe streets, and actually teaming up to help Texas deal with the border crisis that Biden has thrust upon the United States. Governor DeSantis has proven that he has got a track record that works and the American people are following, and you saw that with the enthusiasm tonight that temporarily broke Twitter, but now they are having a great conversation.

GALLAGHER: I am not anti-DeSantis. I am not anti-Trump. You know that. I am a Republican and I want a Republican to win in 2024. If it is Donald Trump, I will be all in for Trump. If it is Ron DeSantis, I will be all in for DeSantis. If it is Larry Elder, or Tim Scott, I will be all in for the Republican. Let me just clarify what you just heard from Chip Roy was spin. That is called let’s take a lemon and squeeze some lemonade out of this. A 25 minute catastrophic failure on Twitter is not a good thing. Chip Roy can spin it that way. Sorry. It wasn’t supposed to go that way. Frankly, if Elon Musk can’t handle 700-800 thousands people on Twitter, how is he going to host The Tucker Carlson Show?
