Gov. Ron DeSantis announced his 2024 candidacy on Twitter Spaces with Elon Musk.

GALLAGHER: Here Gov. DeSantis was formally announcing his White House campaign. Here was Ron DeSantis after they took 25 minutes to get the thing running. Listen. No matter what you hear, it was a catastrophe. DeSantis supporters are saying oh he broke the internet. 7-800 thousand people. That is what Anderson Cooper gets on a Wednesday night. Not an earth shattering amount of people. Maybe it was tough for Twitter which doesn’t reflect well on Twitter because you’d think they would have the infrastructure in place. I guarantee you Ron DeSantis ain’t happy about the launch. Here was his announcement after 25 mins with weird music and people being disconnected. Joe Biden’s campaign made fun of it. Trump was having a field day with it. Here is what it sounded like when DeSantis was able to speak on Twitter Spaces.

DESANTIS: Well, I am running for president of the United States to lead our great American comeback. Look, we know our country’s going in the wrong direction. We see with our eyes and we feel it in our bones. Our southern border has collapsed, drugs are pouring into the country. Our cities are being hollowed out by spike in crime, the federal government’s making it harder for the average family to make ends meet and to attain and maintain a middle class lifestyle. And our president, well, he lacks vigor, flounders in the face of our nation’s challenges, and he takes his cues from the woke mob. I don’t think it has to be this way. American decline is not inevitable, it is a choice. And we should choose a new direction, a path that will lead to American revitalization. We must restore sanity to our nation.
