Mike’s callers share their perspective on the Republicans who are opposing Kevin McCarthy to become House Speaker.

GALLAGHER: Dean is in Canton, Georgia. Happy New Year.

CALLER DEAN: Happy New Year to you Mike. Hey I have a question for all the people that are unhappy with these 20 ‘rebels’. We have to make a stand. If not now, when?

GALLAGHER: Exactly. My question all week has been. Are you happy with the status quo?

CALLER DEAN: Far from it. I just escaped and moved from California to Georgia. It is a breath of fresh air.

CALLER LAWRENCE: Hey, my opinion is that I would go ahead and vote him in if he signed a piece of paper with some stipulations. That would be the only way because he has already proven that he is a back stabber. I don’t particularly care for him. Jim Jordan doesn’t want it.

GALLAGHER: Jim Jordan doesn’t want it. Steve Scalise doesn’t want it or so they say. I’ve heard some rumors that Steve Scalise’ team is measuring the drapes in the Speaker’s office.
