South Carolina Republican Sen. Tim Scott has a 2024 exploratory committee.

GALLAGHER: Sen. Tim Scott has announced that he has formed a presidential exploratory committee. He appeared on Fox & Friends this morning on Fox News Channel.

SCOTT: It is an exciting day for me and hopefully for all of America.
What brought me to this moment is my faith in America tour. I have found people are starving for hope, starving for optimistic positive message anchored in conservative values. I can’t think of a better story to tell than the story of America. My hope is my American dream will pail in comparison to the dreams we hear of future Americans because we have another American century. We have to understand, this is the land of opportunity, not land of oppression. The drug of victimhood being sold by Joe Biden and the radical left is wrong. We believe in the power of individual responsibility. I couldn’t be more excited.

GALLAGHER: Well, we’re gonna see. He’s an impressive guy and his opening messaging is strong. Tim Scott represents the kind of Reagan-esq optimism of America and he’s a young black guy from South Carolina. Maybe he gets the nomination. Maybe voters are going to be drawn to him. It just seems to be unlikely that people are going to turn away from Donald Trump. Poll after poll shows that Trump is by far and away the front runner for the Republican party.
